Chief Executive: Richard Page

 

Richard is an accomplished Director with over 10 years' in-depth and hands-on experience of developing companies from concept stage through to long-term growth and sustained profitability. Richard has a considerable amount of experience of both Commissioning & Procurement in the capacity of client, consultant and contractor. Having achieved success in leading bid teams to win high value contracts in both the public and private sectors Richard is by nature customer-orientated and quality focused. He is adept at identifying key areas of business, focusing on long-term strategy and working collaboratively with partner organisations.

Deputy Chief Executive & Medical Director: Dr Gillian Davidson

 

Dr Gillian Davidson BM BS BMedsci MRCGP DFFP. Qualified in Nottingham in 1994 and holds a BmedSci in Public Health and Epidemiology. She has been a GP for 14 years in the local area including 3 years in Burton, 5 years in Amber Valley and 6 years in Derby City. She has been a GP appraiser for 4 years and feels that the knowledge she has gained working throughout the area and listening to other GPs will greatly help in her role assisting the management team. She is looking forward to the challenge of making primary care once again central to the well-being of the population and whilst improving job satisfaction for those involved.

Financial Director: Mike Carey

Mike has been a Practice Manager for 5 years and before that he spent 22 years with J.Lyons & Co Ltd (turnover £500 million) culminating in the position of Chief Financial Accountant at Lyons. At the time Lyons was the Food Division of Allied Domecq PLC. Mike went on to join a struggling print company as Financial Director in 1996 (turnover £15 million) and was instrumental in restructuring the business, substantially reducing costs and returning it to profit. In 2005 Mike was part of a Management Buy Out of the company from the private investment capital owners, selling on in 2008. He brings a wealth of both financial and business skills and experience to the Alexin Healthcare Board.

Operations & Performance Director: Steve Chapman

 

Steve, a trained accountant, held both Finance Director and Operations Director positions in small to medium size companies and divisions of international companies before being appointed as Practice Manager at Lister House in Derby in 2008. In that period the practice have built new premises and developed, tendered for and operated the city-wide MSK triage and treatment service. He is keen to continue to use the knowledge and experiences gained in the private sector in this challenging new healthcare setting.

Non-Executive Chairman: Jeff Collett

 

A quantity surveyor by profession Jeff has recently retired after many years in the construction industry where he held a number of executive directorships with both large construction companies and consultancies.


Jeff is very familiar with company governance ,commercial disciplines, bid submission and budgetary control. He has also developed a number of innovative and risk sharing contract models whilst working as a partnering advisor.


Working in the social housing sector on very large regeneration projects has given experience of working with a number of stakeholders within the Government regulated public sector environment.


Since retiring Jeff has been very active in his village community in a number of roles to promote community cohesion and sustainability.

Non-Executive Director: Dr Chris Turner MBBS MRCGP


Chris brings a wealth of experience to the board, having been a GP in Derby City for 33 years. A former GP trainer, he also held the positions of Chair of Vale of Trent Faculty Board RCGP (2009-2012) and President of The Derby Medical Society (2005-6). Having acted as Senior Partner at his practice from 2003 till his semi-retirement, Chris has adjusted his work life balance to spend time with his three grandchildren and indulge his passion for travel. However, he continues work as a Locum GP, GP Appraiser and Appraiser Trainer, and remains committed to ensuring that patients in Southern Derbyshire have access to good local Personal Medical Services delivered from thriving practices.

Non-Executive Director: Nigel Grinstead

 

Nigel is a highly experienced, hands-on specialist with an impressive track record. He has over 20 years' experience working with health and care organisations in the UK and his in-depth understanding of the nature and complexities of the sector is second to none.

 

Over the years, Nigel has been at the forefront of transforming NHS organisations to meet the demands of the changing political and economic environment in which they operate. He has worked with a diverse portfolio of clients from groups of GPs, nurses, practice managers, secondary care clinicians, NHS managers, Board directors and commissioners, to organisations such as the BMA, LMCs, SHAs, PCTs, ICOs, CCGs and, most recently, GP provider groups and GP Federations.

 

Nigel is a highly experienced professional speaker, trainer, mediator, facilitator and consultant and is equally at home working closely with small groups or delivering keynote speeches to large audiences on the platform.
